URL Encoder / Decoder
Encode and decode URLs and query string parameters (%-encoding). Real-time conversion with automatic query parameter table extraction.
| Parameter Name | Value |
|---|---|
| query | fast tools |
| filter | 100% private |
How to Use URL Encoder / Decoder
-
Choose operation mode
Select "Encode URL" to convert unsafe characters into %-escaped sequences, or "Decode URL" to restore percent-encoded strings to readable text.
-
Select encoding standard
Use "Component" (encodeURIComponent) to encode all special characters including ?, &, =, and /, or "Full URL" (encodeURI) to preserve protocol and path structure.
-
Inspect & copy
Review the instant output, view the automatically parsed query parameters table, and click "Copy Result" to copy to your clipboard.
Query String Percent-Encoding Example
product=shoes & accessories&color=blue/red product=shoes%20%26%20accessories&color=blue%2Fred Spaces become %20, ampersands become %26, and slashes become %2F, preventing server query parameter parsing collisions.
Technical Specifications
- Supported Inputs: Full URL (encodeURI), Component (encodeURIComponent), RFC 3986
- Input Limit: Unlimited
- Processing Engine: 100% In-Browser (ECMAScript URI Engine)
- Content Uploads: None (Your files and text are processed locally on your device with zero uploads)
Privacy & Security Guarantee
Your URLs and query strings are processed entirely in your web browser's memory using native client-side web technologies. Unlike traditional cloud tools, your content is never uploaded to remote servers, stored on external disks, or analyzed by third parties.
2ClickKit In-Browser vs Traditional Cloud Tools
| Feature | 2ClickKit (In-Browser) | Traditional Cloud Services |
|---|---|---|
| Data Privacy | Files never leave your local device | Uploaded to remote servers and third-party clouds |
| Processing Speed | Instant local execution (0ms upload time) | Constrained by internet upload & server processing queues |
| Account & Costs | 100% Free with zero registration or paywalls | Tiered subscriptions, limits, or forced sign-ups |
Best Practices & Tips
- When building API query parameters (e.g. searching terms with spaces or ampersands), always use "Component" mode.
- If you have an encoded URL and want to inspect its query values, switch to "Decode URL" and scroll down to the auto-extracted query parameters table.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do URLs need percent-encoding?
URLs can only be transmitted over the Internet using the standard ASCII character set. Characters outside ASCII (such as non-Latin scripts, emojis, and spaces) or reserved syntax characters (like ?, &, =, /) must be converted into a valid % followed by two hexadecimal digits.
What is the difference between encodeURI and encodeURIComponent?
encodeURI is designed for complete URLs and does not encode protocol/path delimiters (;, /, ?, :, @, &, =, +, $, #). encodeURIComponent is designed for query parameter values and encodes all special delimiters so they do not break URL structure.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. The encoding and parameter parsing runs entirely within your browser JavaScript engine. Your query parameters, URLs, and auth tokens are never transmitted to any remote server.
