Best Practices & Tips
- Keep the aspect ratio lock enabled (default) to ensure your photo does not become distorted or stretched.
- If you need a smaller file size for web use, try downscaling high-resolution camera photos (e.g., from 4000px down to 1200px or 1920px).
Frequently Asked Questions
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Downscaling (making an image smaller) retains sharpness and reduces file size. Upscaling (making an image significantly larger than its original resolution) may introduce softness since new pixels are interpolated.
Why are GIF files not supported?
Animated GIFs have multiple frames. The standard browser Canvas API flattens animations into a single still frame, which ruins animated images. To avoid giving you a broken still image, we restrict resizing to standard PNG, JPEG, and WebP files.
Are my photos uploaded to a cloud server?
No. The image resizing algorithm runs strictly inside your web browser via HTML5 Canvas. Your images are never transmitted across the internet.
